Seongbuk-gu Holds '2020 Dong Community Security Council Best Practice Presentation'... Held on November 27 at Seongbuk Art Hall Following Quarantine Guidelines... 20 Dong Neighborhoods Evenly Awarded in Practical Council Review
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) held the ‘2020 Dong Community Security Council Best Practice Presentation’.
The ‘2020 Dong Community Security Council Best Practice Presentation,’ held at Seongbuk Art Hall on the 27th of last month, was conducted in compliance with quarantine guidelines following strengthened social distancing measures.
Four dongs?Jeongneung 3-dong, Jeongneung 4-dong, Wolgok 2-dong, and Jangwi 3-dong?represented 20 dongs and presented their best practices on stage.
Jeongneung 3-dong introduced the ‘Samgyetang Sharing and Chuseok Gift Sharing Project,’ which practices continuous love and care for marginalized neighbors through gift sharing. Jeongneung 4-dong presented the ‘2020 Holiday Love Sharing Project,’ aimed at helping the most vulnerable spend a prosperous holiday. Wolgok 2-dong introduced the ‘Smart LTE Care Plug Service’ project, a pioneering non-face-to-face service implemented to prevent solitary deaths amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. Jangwi 3-dong introduced the ‘Jangsam Angel Banham’ support project, which actively discovers welfare blind spots through the operation of Angel Phones.
The judging was conducted by the district Community Security Council’s working committee. To support everyone who devotedly strives to create a happier Seongbuk for marginalized neighbors, awards such as the ‘Sincere Health Support Award,’ ‘Safe Living Support Award,’ and ‘Isolation Prevention Care Award’ were evenly distributed to all 20 dongs. The representative projects of the 20 dongs will be published in a best practice collection titled ‘2020 Creating a Happy Seongbuk Welfare for All.’
The Seongbuk-gu Dong Community Security Council was established in 2011. Currently, 521 members are promoting 142 special projects.
This year, due to difficulties in face-to-face activities caused by COVID-19, many non-face-to-face projects were implemented to ensure that those facing livelihood difficulties and vulnerable groups are not neglected, such as non-face-to-face welfare checks and activation of health product support. Representative projects include the ‘Smart LTE Care Plug Service’ and the ‘Angel Phone Operation Communicating via SNS.’
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you for always being close to the residents and providing help. I hope you will continue to tirelessly work on the front lines to improve residents’ welfare.”
