[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Sojung, who was active as a member of Ladies' Code along with Kwon Rise and Eunbi, appeared as contestant No. 11 on 'Sing Again' and mentioned the tragic accident involving the two members.

On the 30th, JTBC's 'Sing Again - Unknown Singer Battle' aired the first round 'Group Survival Match' featuring 71 teams that advanced to the main competition. Ladies' Code's Sojung appeared as contestant No. 11, challenging to advance to the second round in the 'Standing Alone' group by performing Im Jae-beom's 'Emergency'.

Sojung introduced herself as "a singer who now wants to smile."

She said, "I was originally bright, but there were many times I cried," and added, "I was part of a five-member group called 'Ladies' Code.'"

In an interview, Sojung said, "We even won a rookie award and things were going well. We were active as a five-member group for two years, then after the accident, we continued as a trio for five years." She continued, "Even though quite some time has passed, it was very upsetting to see people react to us as pitiful or unfortunate girls. I guess that's a challenge we have to overcome."

Choosing Im Jae-beom's 'Emergency,' Sojung explained, "I wanted to convey to many people that I am working hard. I want to say that I will keep doing my best, so please look kindly upon me."

After the performance, Sojung said, "We continued activities after the accident, but the empty space was too big," and added, "I thought a lot about whether it was okay to smile on stage. I wanted to bring joy and happiness, but since people looked at me with pity, I often felt like I shouldn't smile."

Meanwhile, the late Kwon Rise passed away at the age of 23 in September 2014 due to a traffic accident. On Sojung's Instagram, videos of the late member Kwon Rise remain.
