[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A man in the United States died after being attacked by the family of his ex-girlfriend, who wielded weapons in self-defense when he assaulted her.
According to the Los Angeles Times (LAT) and others on the 29th (local time), Justin Goss (40) broke into a home in South Pasadena, California, and violently beat his ex-girlfriend, ultimately dying after being confronted by her family members who tried to stop the assault.
According to the LA County Sheriff's Department, Goss harbored resentment toward his ex-girlfriend and broke into her house by smashing a window with a brick.
The man repeatedly punched his ex-girlfriend in the face, threatening her life.
In response, the ex-girlfriend’s mother and sister confronted him with a golf club and a knife, and Goss was eventually stabbed to death.
The Sheriff's Department stated, "The victim’s family tried to stop the perpetrator, but since it was ineffective, they had to take up weapons."
The newspaper, citing judicial authorities, reported, "Although Goss died, the actions of the ex-girlfriend’s family will be recognized as self-defense, and no murder charges will be filed."
