[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A man in his 50s who threw stones at a dog, then at a woman trying to stop him, and also at a vehicle, was sentenced to prison.
On the 30th, according to Ulsan District Court, Chief Judge Kim Jeong-seok of Criminal Division 4 sentenced Mr. A (50), who was tried on charges including special assault, to five months in prison.
Mr. A was indicted for throwing stones at a barking dog in the parking lot of a pension in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, last August, and when a woman in her 30s, Ms. B, saw this and tried to stop him by saying "Stop it," he threw a stone at her, hitting her leg.
When people nearby criticized him, Mr. A shouted and threw stones at a vehicle owned by another person, Mr. C, causing repair costs of approximately 480,000 won.
The court stated the sentencing reason: "Although the defendant reached an amicable settlement with the victims, he has a history of multiple punishments related to violent crimes, and committed the offense without self-restraint during the probation period, making a prison sentence unavoidable."
