On the 27th, participants of the Korean Product Safety Society Autumn Academic Conference are taking a commemorative photo at a hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul.
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The Korea Product Safety Society announced on the 30th that it held this year's autumn academic conference and Product Safety Management Awards ceremony on the 27th at the Four Points by Sheraton Seoul Guro Hotel under the theme of "Product Safety Value Management and Creation of Social Value." The event was hosted by the Korea Product Safety Society and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's National Institute of Technology and Standards, Korea Product Safety Management Institute, KOTITI Testing & Research Institute, Korea Midland Power, Hills Engineering, Synustech, Hyundai Infracore, and Gudul. To comply with social distancing level 2 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was conducted both online and offline.
No Kyungho, president of the Korea Product Safety Society and professor at Daelim University, gave the opening remarks. Jeong Giwon, president of the Korea Product Safety Management Institute, delivered a keynote speech on the topic "Standards, Safety, and Certification in the Era of Technological Innovation." Professor Kim Jaegu of Myongji University presented the principles of practicing social value management in the post-COVID-19 era under the theme "Practical Strategies for Social Value Management."
At the Product Safety Management Awards ceremony, Kim Juheon, CEO of Synustech; Lee Daljae, head of Boryeong Power Plant at Korea Midland Power; Yoon Jongcheol, co-CEO of Hills Engineering; Kim Gwangguk, CEO of Hyundai Infracore; and Shin Yongseon, CEO of Gudul were selected as corporate awardees and received the Product Safety Management Awards.
At the academic paper presentation session, 14 papers across 4 divisions were moderated by Professor Lee Euyoung of Gunsan National University, Professor Kim Kyunghwan of Sungkyunkwan University, Professor Choi Hyekyung of Ewha Womans University, and Lee Eunyoung, representative of the Citizens' Coalition for Consumer Rights. Three papers by Bang Soyeon (Konkuk University) & Lee Miyoung (Konkuk University), Lee Jeongryeon (Hanyang University) & Lee Changwon (Hanyang University), and Son Jongwook (Sungkyunkwan University), Park Nayoung (Sungkyunkwan University), & Kim Kyunghwan (Sungkyunkwan University) received the Best Paper Awards.
