[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Gidae-seo, a member of the Buk-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City, raised his voice that the purchase and contract methods of health center supplies need to be inspected.
According to Councilor Gidae-seo on the 30th, some suppliers repeatedly change and deliver items every year in the purchase details of medical equipment and medicines at the health center, and the purchase of quarantine supplies has surged due to COVID-19. In response, Councilor Gi ordered the establishment of a data-driven management and system for quarantine supplies.
Regarding the purchase contracts for clinic medicines, he also pointed out that they are concentrated in specific wholesale and retail companies, urging attention to local companies within Buk-gu amid the difficult economic situation caused by COVID-19.
Councilor Gidae-seo said, “There are many cases where contracts are directly issued by the health center rather than the Buk-gu Office contract department. I hope that measures to ensure transparency will be established so that contracts can be made based on consistent criteria such as budget savings and selection of local companies.”
