[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 30th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on supporting housing independence with Gwangju Urban Corporation and the Social Innovation Platform Youth at the government office.
This MOU was promoted to support housing independence, which is the foundation of self-reliance for the younger generation, to help their social entry and add vitality.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ establishing a social safety net for the self-reliance of the younger generation ▲ operating self-reliance programs to support youth vitality ▲ creating a foundation for youth housing independence.
The three organizations will create the ‘Youth Housing Independence Laboratory,’ a share house and youth workshop where young people live together and learn life skills necessary for self-reliance, and connect regional resources such as self-reliance programs with related specialized organizations and institutions.
Kim Sam-ho, head of Gwangsan-gu, said, “The difficulties faced by young people, such as employment difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, are increasing, and we will provide sufficient support so that young people can pioneer their own future and establish themselves as democratic citizens.”
