How Are Busan Villages Changing... '2020 Busan Urban Regeneration Online Expo'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City will hold the "2020 Busan Urban Regeneration Expo," which examines the changes and blueprint of Busan's urban regeneration, online from December 1 to 4.

The "Busan Urban Regeneration Expo" has been held annually since 2017 as a venue for citizens to empathize and communicate with the growth of urban regeneration where people, culture, welfare, and environment harmonize.

This year's expo, marking the fourth edition, will be operated mainly online to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The online urban regeneration expo is the first attempt among local governments nationwide and will broadcast various programs such as ▲Opening Ceremony ▲Dispatch! To the Site of Busan Urban Regeneration ▲Online Seminars through the official website's Live Hall.

The opening ceremony will be held on December 1 at 10 a.m. under the theme "Happy Changes in Busan," featuring ▲Welcome remarks by Acting Mayor Byeon Seong-wan ▲Video congratulatory speech by Shin Sang-hae, Chairperson of Busan City Council ▲Declaration of opening ▲Celebratory performances, and more.

"Dispatch! To the Site of Busan Urban Regeneration," held from December 1 to 3, is a dual live broadcast where studio and field reporters introduce urban regeneration project sites, allowing viewers to experience Busan's urban regeneration sites vividly in real time.

Online seminars, including the format-breaking "Sarangbang Roundtable" and special lectures by urban regeneration experts, will be held over two days from December 2 to 3.

Related organizations, 16 districts and counties, and village community web booths will be exhibited and operated through the website, and events such as the Busan Urban Regeneration 16 Strong Contest, Village Talent Show, and Free Village Market will be held as "Busan Village Day Events Communicating Online."

The "Free Village Market," which introduces major products of village communities, is an event that introduces and sells good products of urban regeneration communities online through shopping live broadcasts, providing a great opportunity to generate income and establish a self-reliance foundation for the communities.

The main contents of this expo can be viewed again on the expo website until December 31 this year and can also be watched on the YouTube channel "Busan Urban Regeneration Support Center."

Acting Mayor Byeon Seong-wan said, "We are responding swiftly in the With-Corona era and are the first local government nationwide to hold an urban regeneration expo online."
