Wando-gun Selected as an Outstanding Institution in Physical Activity for Health Promotion Projects

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) announced on the 30th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the physical activity sector of the health promotion project at the ‘2020 Health Promotion Project Non-face-to-face Business Briefing’ held on the 24th, and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.

The county health medical center was recognized for its contribution to promoting the health of residents by operating a customized ontact health promotion program for ‘daily life and social distancing’ in the era of with-COVID-19, strengthening the COVID-19 quarantine system.

So far, various face-to-face and non-face-to-face health promotion projects have been promoted, such as a non-face-to-face online walking challenge to relieve psychological isolation and depression caused by COVID-19, a ‘Ttaro Tto Gati LIVE Home Cook Class’ for making food that prevents obesity and boosts immunity, a mobile health counseling room, body composition measurement and metabolic syndrome detection tests, production and promotion of home workout YouTube videos that can be easily followed at home, night exercise classes for office workers to activate healthy habits, and wise menopausal life classes by fifth-grade sisters.

Im Seong-sik, head of the health promotion division, said, “This award is thanks to the active participation of the residents in the health promotion project,” and added, “We will operate programs that are necessary for residents and that more residents can participate in to contribute to health promotion.”
