Gyeongnam Province 'Healing Gyeongnam Travel' Video Contest Winners ... Grand Prize Goes to 'Salm-ui Swimpyo'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 30th the winners of the video diary (vlog) contest titled ‘My Own Healing Travel in Gyeongnam,’ conducted under the theme of ‘Healing Gyeongnam Travel.’

This contest was planned to strengthen the image of Gyeongsangnam-do as a healing travel destination amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, during which travel trends have shifted towards ‘rest and healing.’ A total of 65 entries were received.

The grand prize went to the team of Yoo Du-ok and Sung Eun-hye (Seoul) for ‘Life’s Comma (Tongyeong),’ which received high praise for its emotional cinematography, thematic suitability, camera work, and editing, all of which were deemed to be produced by professionals.

Additionally, the excellence award was given to Kim Jae-wook (Seoul) for ‘Between the Cypress Forest and the Sea,’ and the merit awards went to Han Ji-yeon (Gwangju) for ‘Islands of Gyeongnam that Heal Body and Mind,’ Kang Byung-hyo (Gimhae) for ‘Adding Healing, Yokjido,’ and Lee Soo-bin (Gimhae) for ‘Gimhae Healing Travel, Shall We?’

Prize money will be awarded as follows: 3 million KRW for the grand prize, 2 million KRW for the excellence award, 1 million KRW each for the merit awards, 500,000 KRW each for encouragement awards, and 300,000 KRW each for honorable mentions.

The winning videos can be viewed on the Gyeongnam Tourism Guide website and the Gyeongnam Provincial Government’s YouTube channel, Gyeongnam Official, and will be used as promotional videos for Gyeongnam tourism in the future.

Lee Jae-cheol, Director of the Tourism Promotion Division of the province, said, “The beautiful tourist spots of Gyeongnam have been newly highlighted as healing travel through the ideas of each participant. We thank everyone who participated despite the difficult circumstances caused by COVID-19.”
