Photos and Illustrations Depicting Gonghang-dong Urban Regeneration Activation Area... Applications Accepted Until December 10
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is hosting the "Gonghang-dong Urban Regeneration Illustration & Photo Contest" as part of the Gonghang-dong Urban Regeneration Activation Project.
This contest was organized to bring vitality to daily life, which has been difficult and exhausting due to COVID-19, and to increase residents' interest and understanding of the urban regeneration project.
The contest is divided into two categories: illustration and photography, and participants can submit up to three entries per person in each category.
The contest content for the photography category includes scenes of residents' lives in the Gonghang-dong urban regeneration activation area, street views, local landmarks, buildings and places they want to document. For the illustration category, submissions should depict urban images related to Gonghang-dong urban regeneration, images of Gonghang-dong as a desirable place to live, or maps of village alleys. However, the submission location must be within the Gonghang-dong urban regeneration activation area (around Gonghang-dong 60-28).
Photographs must be original JPG files taken with a digital camera after November 19 of this year, with a width of at least 3000 pixels. Illustrations must be created as JPG or PNG image files sized 297mm wide by 180mm high.
The submission period is until December 10, and anyone can participate regardless of age or region.
Participants should submit the original work file along with the application form, work description, and consent form for personal information collection and use via email (jadekim1119@gmail.com).

The district will have an external expert judging panel review the submissions and select 15 outstanding works per category, totaling 30, with individual notifications planned in December.
Prizes will be awarded as follows: one grand prize winner per category will receive 500,000 KRW, three excellence awards will receive 300,000 KRW each, five encouragement awards will receive 200,000 KRW each, and six honorable mentions will receive 100,000 KRW each.
Additionally, the district plans to use the winning works as promotional materials to activate urban regeneration in Gonghang-dong.
Mayor Noh Hyun-song said, "I hope this contest will serve as an opportunity for local residents to take greater interest in the urban regeneration project," and added, "We look forward to many participants who are interested."
