SK Gas Launches Korea's First Propane Distribution Innovation Platform 'Wego'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SK Gas Co., Ltd. is developing and providing the industry's first propane distribution platform to innovate propane distribution and promote mutual growth across the propane distribution industry, including propane charging operators and end consumers.

SK Gas announced that starting December 1, it will offer the propane distribution innovation platform developed to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs for propane charging operators, as well as enhance convenience and safety for end consumers, through internet web and mobile apps. Named "wego" after the first two words of the English phrase "We go wherever the customer is," this platform is the first AI-based platform in the domestic propane distribution industry.

The propane distribution innovation platform "wego" provides propane charging operators with transportation efficiency and convenience in settlement tasks, while offering end consumers convenience by enabling frequent safety checks of storage tanks and reducing the hassle of separate orders.

"wego" offers features that enhance transportation efficiency, such as remote inventory confirmation through the "Remote Inventory Transmitter (Digital Gauge)" installed on storage tanks, AI-based usage prediction and charging plan establishment, delivery route optimization via a dispatch engine, and a "Smart Transport" system that allows pre-charging at other demand sites after checking remaining quantities at nearby demand points during delivery.

Additionally, it is equipped with a settlement function that automatically uploads data such as charging volume and charging time through digital flow meters installed on charging vehicles, and facilitates easy processing from daily/monthly sales performance summaries based on charging data to invoice issuance. This enables one-stop handling of ordering, delivery, and settlement processes, significantly reducing the workload of charging operators and delivery drivers.

Moreover, since it can integrally receive information from various brands of "Remote Inventory Transmitters" sold domestically, existing installed "Remote Inventory Transmitters" can continue to be used as is. A system that quickly and accurately detects and addresses errors in transmitted information has also been added, which is expected to increase charging operators' trust in the platform.

Separate services are also provided to enhance convenience, safety, and reliability for end consumers. End consumers can place orders anytime through the provided application and manage their usage and charging history through the delivery history management function. This improves both convenience and trust in supply.

Furthermore, to ensure timely compliance with safety management obligations related to storage facilities, the platform includes functions such as safety inspection scheduling, result registration, and status reporting, as well as a daily inspection check function performed by delivery drivers to secure customer safety.

To prepare for safety stock shortages caused by unforeseen circumstances, the "Emergency Transport Response System," based on SK Gas's nationwide transport coverage, enables emergency charging using charging vehicles operating nearby.

Meanwhile, detailed information about "wego" can be found in the introduction video on SK Gas's YouTube channel, and charging operators who wish to use the platform can contact SK Gas headquarters for guidance.
