Epidemiological Investigation Confirms No COVID-19 Cases Among Users of Noryangjin Multi-Use Facilities and No Epidemiological Links Between Confirmed Cases... Enhanced Inspection and Disinfection of 986 Sites Including Hagwon, Study Rooms, and Study Cafes During Special Quarantine Period Until College Entrance Exam Day

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) announced on the 30th that a total of 2,994 citizens were tested through the operation of the Noryangjin on-site screening clinic for proactive COVID-19 response, with results as of the 29th showing 2,990 negative and 4 positive cases.
In response to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases due to a cluster infection at Noryangjin academies, the district installed and operated an on-site screening clinic in the district office parking lot for three days starting from the 25th to prevent large-scale further spread.
Testing was conducted for all facility users and residents in the Noryangjin area regardless of COVID-19 symptoms, with results as of the 29th showing ▲2,990 negative ▲4 positive cases.
Notably, in this testing which did not specify locations or subjects, epidemiological investigations found no confirmed cases among users of multi-use facilities in Noryangjin, and no epidemiological links between confirmed cases.
To further strengthen quarantine activities in the area, from 8 a.m. on the 30th, the mayor, Dongbang Station Support Team, and others will conduct focused disinfection at subway stations and multi-use facilities in the Noryangjin academy district.
Additionally, in cooperation with the Education Support Office, inspections are being carried out targeting 986 locations during the two-week special quarantine period until the college entrance exam day, including ▲446 academies ▲392 private tutoring centers ▲65 reading rooms ▲83 study cafes.
Along with this proactive response, to allow residents to safely use traditional markets, an on-site screening clinic was set up at Sadang 2-dong Community Center on the 26th, where 245 people including merchants from Namseong Sagye Market were tested on-site, all of whom tested negative.
Lee Chang-woo, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, stated, “We will continue to prioritize the health and lives of residents and devote all efforts to COVID-19 prevention throughout the district,” adding, “We hope residents will thoroughly follow quarantine guidelines and safely use all facilities in the Noryangjin area free from COVID-19 concerns.”
