On the morning of the 29th, 25 additional confirmed cases related to Choyeon Music Studio were reported in Busan, and in the afternoon of the same day, 14 confirmed cases, including 13 students and 1 staff member, were confirmed at Geumjeong High School in Busan, all of whom were contacts from the music studio.
Since the first case on the 21st, the number has quickly surpassed 100 by the 29th, reaching a total of 117 visitors and contacts.
Busan reported 51 new COVID-19 cases on this day, marking six consecutive days of double-digit increases.
According to Busan city health authorities on the afternoon of the 29th, out of 1,642 COVID-19 tests conducted the previous day, 51 tested positive. Among them, 39 were classified as related to Choyeon Music Studio.
Infections related to Choyeon Music Studio, a practice room for instruments such as janggu, have accumulated to 117 cases since the first confirmed case on the 21st: 1 on the 21st, 4 on the 23rd, 14 on the 24th, 19 on the 25th, 14 on the 26th, 13 on the 27th, 13 on the 28th, and 39 on the 29th. Among these, 27 were visitors to the music studio and 90 were contacts.
In response to the rapid increase in confirmed cases, Busan city plans to raise social distancing measures to Level 2 starting in December.
