UK Secures Additional 2 Million Doses of US Moderna Vaccine

As a result, the UK has secured a total of 7 million doses of the Moderna vaccine. This amount is sufficient to vaccinate 3.5 million people. Including this, the UK has secured a total of 357 million doses from seven developers.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock stated in a press release, "We now have a wide range of vaccine candidates," adding, "Once approved by medical authorities, we are ready to distribute the vaccines, starting with those who will benefit the most."

Meanwhile, the vaccine being developed by Moderna has shown a preventive efficacy of 94.5%.
