[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] KOTRA's video consultations in response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), which have been in operation since February this year, have surpassed 30,000 sessions.
According to KOTRA on the 29th, the number of online consultations recorded until November this year reached 31,020. Overseas buyers from 14,341 companies in 84 countries worldwide and 7,708 domestic companies participated in export consultations.
KOTRA has also been conducting a "Performance Settlement Video Consultation" since November, providing follow-up services to participating buyers. Since it is difficult to achieve contract results in a single online consultation, KOTRA supports follow-up consultations through a full survey of participating buyers. The "Performance Settlement Video Consultation" has been conducted 353 times, and KOTRA plans to promote more than 1,000 sessions by next month.
Results are also increasing. The current number of contracts is 446, with a total amount reaching 72.55 million dollars. Export contracts, which were 219 cases until August, increased by 227 cases in just three months.

In particular, on the 23rd, Edutech company A achieved a performance by signing a long-term exclusive contract worth 760,000 dollars with a Qatari education service buyer. Company A began pioneering the local market by participating in the "Korea-Qatar Economic Cooperation Delegation" in October last year.
After COVID-19, they promoted their business using KOTRA BuyKorea's non-face-to-face marketing project, the "Industry-specific Online Product Hall." Although entry into Qatar remains difficult, with the help of KOTRA Doha Trade Center, Company A succeeded in entering the Middle Eastern education market for the first time.
Additionally, cosmetics manufacturing and distribution company B signed an export agreement worth 1 million dollars with a Romanian distributor on the 25th through KOTRA's non-face-to-face marketing project and the "Performance Settlement Video Consultation." Although demand for K-Beauty products is increasing in Romania, indirect transactions through Western European buyers have been common until now. With this MOU, Company B plans to pursue direct exports that can enhance price competitiveness. They are also conducting local promotions, and expansion of local market share is expected in the future.
Kwon Pyung-oh, President of KOTRA, said, "Starting with the Performance Settlement Video Consultation, we will continue post-management to help our small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies participating in online consultations achieve contracts."
