[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] HDC I'Park Mall, a distribution specialist company within the HDC Group, announced on the 29th that it was selected as the 'Best Company in the Building Sector Greenhouse Gas Energy Target Management System' at the '2020 Building Greenhouse Gas and Energy Best Practice Performance Sharing Conference' held at Le M?ridien Seoul Hotel on the 27th, and received the 'Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Commendation.'

The 'Building Greenhouse Gas and Energy Best Practice Performance Sharing Conference' is an event hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and organized by the Korea Energy Agency. It was established to select and reward excellent companies with significant contributions to greenhouse gas reduction in the building sector to achieve the national greenhouse gas reduction target (37% reduction from BAU by 2030), to encourage participation in the target management system by management companies, and to promote the discovery and dissemination of greenhouse gas reduction technologies.

Since its completion in 2004, I'Park Mall has increased its energy usage area by 35.6% through continuous expansion, yet it has reduced energy consumption by 32.4% through continuous investment and management since 2007.

Additionally, all 18,000 lighting fixtures used inside were replaced with high-efficiency lighting devices (LED), eliminating wasted electricity. To reduce heating and cooling energy, which accounts for a large portion of building energy use, the company voluntarily implemented power peak load management measures such as sequential shutdown of air handling units and operation of ice thermal storage chillers, contributing to the reduction of actual gas emissions and energy savings.
