[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will hold an online 'Broadcast Format Overseas Expansion Investment Briefing' targeting North America and Asia from the 30th to December 4th to expand the overseas advancement of domestic broadcast video content formats.

First, a 'K-Format Online Investment Briefing' will be held targeting the North American region. This event will introduce broadcast formats following the globally remade 'King of Mask Singer (MBC)' and 'I Can See Your Voice (CJ ENM),' which was remade in North America last September and has gained popularity.

Demonstration videos and investment briefings of 18 selected works (8 dramas and 10 non-dramas), chosen based on artistic quality and sales potential, can be viewed on the official website (http://kformatscreenings.com). The Content Agency is cooperating with the U.S. Business Center to invite local buyers with strong purchasing power and support non-face-to-face investment consultations.

On December 4th, at the Asia TV Forum (ATF) held in Singapore, a 'K-Format Online Screening' will also take place. Fifteen selected works, chosen based on content preferences by Asian region, artistic quality, and sales potential, will be introduced.

Since 2009, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Content Agency, has supported the broadcast format industry by fostering 'new format planning and development,' 'format pilot production,' and operating 'broadcast format research courses (labs)' to discover experimental formats.

Among these, 'Lotto Singer (developer Formatist)' and 'Battle in the Box (developer N Media, distributor Something Special)' were introduced at the International Broadcasting Video Market (BCWW) held online in Seoul last September and have recently signed contracts with a subsidiary of FOX in the United States.
