[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Paris Baguette announced on the 29th that it has launched four bakery products using Jeju carrots.
SPC Group signed an MOU on the 17th with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Regional Headquarters of NongHyup Economic Holdings to develop products using carrots and promote consumption. As part of this agreement, Paris Baguette introduced bakery products made with Jeju Gujwa carrots, which are known for their high sweetness and strong aroma.
The products include ▲‘Jeju Gujwa Carrot Cake’ and ‘Jeju Gujwa Mini Carrot Cake,’ featuring moist and richly flavored cake sheets made with fresh Jeju Gujwa carrots combined with soft cream cheese ▲‘Jeju Carrot Sandorong Sandwich,’ which layers moist cake sheets made with Jeju Gujwa carrots and cream cheese, cut into bite-sized pieces ▲and ‘Jeju Carrot Mendolong Muffin,’ a sweet treat topped with dense cream cheese on a carrot muffin studded with carrot dices and walnuts.
Gujwa carrots are vegetables harvested from the volcanic ash soil (hoesanhoeto) in the Gujwa area of Jeju Island, known for their high organic matter content, sweetness, and strong aroma. They are a seasonal vegetable harvested from mid-November to March of the following year, allowing consumers to enjoy their fresh taste.
A Paris Baguette representative said, “As the second happy win-win project to support local farmers, we have introduced carrot bakery products in collaboration with Jeju Gujwa carrot farmers. We will continue to launch products using fresh local agricultural products through cooperation with regional farms in need of support.”
