According to Daejeon City on the 28th, four additional confirmed cases were reported, including two family members of confirmed cases related to the cleaning company, contacts of confirmed cases from other regions, and cases with unknown infection routes.
Confirmed case number 484 is a person in their 60s residing in Jung-gu, who tested positive after undergoing testing on the 23rd due to symptoms of body aches. The infection route is currently unknown, and health authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation.
Confirmed case number 485 is a person in their 50s residing in Seo-gu and is the spouse of confirmed case number 474, an employee of the cleaning company. They experienced symptoms such as headaches starting on the 26th and tested positive after being tested.
Confirmed case number 486 is a person in their 20s residing in Seo-gu and is the son of confirmed case number 475, an employee of the cleaning company. They had symptoms such as a sore throat and tested positive after being tested.
Confirmed case number 487 is a person in their 70s residing in Seo-gu and is a colleague of confirmed case number 10 from Okcheon-gun, Chungbuk. After being notified of contact, they were tested while asymptomatic and received a positive diagnosis.
The n-th generation infection originating from the Daejeon cleaning company began on the 24th when the company’s representative and employees (Daejeon cases 462 to 464) tested positive for COVID-19.
Subsequently, confirmed case number 470, who worked with them and then moved to another company, and three employees who came into contact with case 470 (cases 473 to 475) were sequentially confirmed positive, and acquaintance case number 471 also tested positive.
Additionally, today, family members of cases 474 and 475 (cases 485 and 486) were confirmed positive, increasing the total number of confirmed cases related to the cleaning company to 10.
As a result, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Daejeon city as of the 28th is 487 (including 38 overseas entrants). Health authorities plan to disclose the epidemiological investigation results on the city’s official website.
