Murder Case Among Koreans Occurs in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam... 1 Dead Murder Scene Involving Koreans in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] A Korean national died in a Korean-dense area of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The police are treating it as a murder case between Koreans and are currently tracking the suspect.

According to the Korean Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City on the 28th, at around 5:30 PM local time on the 27th, the body of Mr. A (33) was found mutilated in the restroom on the 2nd to 3rd floors of a cosmetics sales company building in Phu My Hung, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Some parts of the body were found inside a travel bag wrapped in a black plastic bag, while other parts were discovered on the restroom floor.

The police are considering the company representative, Mr. Jeong (35), as the prime suspect and are currently searching for his whereabouts. It is reported that when an employee, who was instructed to buy plastic bags, tape, and a large travel bag that day, asked for the reason, Jeong said, "I killed someone," and hurriedly left the scene. The employee checked the closed-circuit television (CCTV) in front of the company and confirmed that Jeong entered the building with Mr. A on the 25th and left alone the next day.

Jeong cut off contact with his wife from 6 PM on the 27th and also lost contact with company employees around 8 PM. A public arrest warrant has been issued for Jeong.

The exact relationship between Jeong and Mr. A has not yet been confirmed. However, company employees have stated that the two were usually on friendly terms. The police plan to conduct an autopsy on Mr. A’s body to determine the exact time and cause of death.
