[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The number of new domestic cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) increased by 504.


The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 28th at midnight that the number of new confirmed cases was as such. This figure decreased by 65 from the previous day (569), but remained in the 500s for the third consecutive day. The total number of domestic COVID-19 cases is 33,375.


This is the first time in about nine months since early March, when a cluster infection occurred in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, that more than 500 new COVID-19 cases have been reported for three consecutive days.


Among the 504 new confirmed cases on this day, 486 were locally transmitted, and 18 were imported from overseas.
