16 People in One Day Including Golf Gathering and Jeonnam National University Hospital
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Double-digit COVID-19 cases have been reported for the fourth consecutive day in Gwangju. In particular, seven cases have been classified as related to a golf gathering, which is a new infection route, raising concerns about additional confirmed cases.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 28th, 10 more people were confirmed positive overnight, classified as cases 666 to 675.
Including the previously confirmed six cases, the total number of confirmed cases in one day is 16.
Cases 666 to 670 and 675 have been classified as related to the golf gathering, which is presumed to be a new infection route. Including case 662 announced earlier, Gwangju City reports that seven people have direct or indirect connections to a golf course in Gyeonggi Province recently visited.
Case 671 is an inmate at Gwangju Prison and is presumed to have had contact with existing confirmed cases at Gwangju Prison, but the initial infection route is classified as Chonnam National University Hospital.
Case 672 is a contact of previously confirmed case 660. The infection route of case 660 is still under investigation.
Case 673 is a family member of a hospitalized patient at Chonnam National University Hospital and tested positive in a test conducted before release from self-quarantine.
Case 674 is a contact of Jeonnam case 379. Jeonnam case 379 had contact with Jeonnam case 367, whose infection route is currently unknown.
Meanwhile, in Gwangju, 16 cases were confirmed the previous day, marking the fourth consecutive day of double-digit confirmed cases following 14 on the 24th, 14 on the 25th, and 13 on the 26th.
