Cold This Weekend... Seoul's Feels-Like Temperature Minus 8 Degrees Tomorrow Morning On the 23rd, when the lowest morning temperature in Seoul dropped to minus 1.4 degrees Celsius and inland areas nationwide fell below freezing, office workers wearing thick coats were heading to work at the Sejongno intersection in Jongno-gu, Seoul. As the sporadic rain and snow that fell on the 27th cease, very cold weather is expected to continue over the weekend. The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) announced that from the 28th to 29th, the weekend, the entire country will be mostly clear, with morning temperatures dropping to around minus 5 degrees Celsius in the central region and some inland areas of Jeonbuk and Gyeongbuk, making it cold. Other regions will also record subzero temperatures. During the day, temperatures in the central inland areas, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongbuk inland will hover around 5 degrees Celsius, while other areas will remain below 10 degrees Celsius, resulting in chilly conditions.

On Saturday the 28th, the morning low temperature in Seoul is expected to be minus 4 degrees Celsius, with winds blowing at 3 m/s, causing the wind chill to drop to as low as minus 8 degrees Celsius. Morning low temperatures by region are expected to range from minus 8 to minus 6 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs between 2 and 10 degrees Celsius. Sunday the 29th will have similar conditions, with morning lows between minus 8 and minus 4 degrees Celsius and daytime highs ranging from 3 to 11 degrees Celsius.

Due to the influence of a cloud band over the West Sea formed by the expansion of the continental high pressure, the Jeolla West Coast and Jeju Island will experience mostly cloudy skies with sporadic snow flurries or raindrops between the night of the 27th and the 28th. Snow accumulation is also expected in the mountainous areas of Jeju Island.

Until the 28th, very strong winds blowing at 35 to 60 km/h will affect the West Coast and Jeju Island, while other regions will experience moderately strong winds at 15 to 30 km/h. The KMA urged caution in managing facilities and preventing safety accidents.

Across all seas (except the southern sea near the coast), very strong winds blowing at 35 to 65 km/h will prevail, with waves reaching heights of 2.0 to 4.0 meters. Especially along the East Coast, high waves caused by swell may overflow rocks and breakwaters. The KMA emphasized, "When swells occur, even waves around 1.5 meters can cause accidents near the coast, so it is advised to avoid approaching coastal areas as much as possible and to exercise special caution for safety."

In the Gyeongsang coastal areas (excluding the northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk), where a dry weather advisory has been issued, the atmosphere is very dry, so attention should be paid to preventing various fires such as wildfires.
