Expecting Improved Parking Convenience for Residents of Sinnae-dong Area and Subway Transfer Users... Operation Starts December 1 with a Total of 100 Spaces Including 28 Above Ground and 72 Underground
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will begin operating the Bonghwasan Station public parking lot (208 Sinnae-ro, Exit 2 of Bonghwasan Station) with a total of 100 spaces, including 28 above ground and 72 underground, starting December 1.
This new parking facility is expected to greatly alleviate the inconvenience experienced by nearby residents who have suffered from parking shortages.
In particular, equipped with an unmanned control system, it will be conveniently available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and the usage fees are affordable at 50,000 KRW per month and 600 KRW per hour.
Monthly parking permits will be offered to residents of nearby houses and apartment complexes with insufficient parking spaces within their complexes, based on applications.
For detailed inquiries such as parking permit applications, residents can contact the Jungnang-gu Facilities Management Corporation for guidance.
The Bonghwasan Station public parking lot, which is now opening for operation, was constructed together with the Happy Housing by SH Corporation in October last year. The district announced that it secured the operating rights for the parking lot through an agreement with SH Corporation in September 2020.
Sinnae-dong, where the public parking lot is located, has been an area with continuous demands from residents for additional parking spaces. The need for expanding public parking has been consistently raised by apartment residents struggling with a shortage of parking spaces per household within apartment complexes and by transfer passengers at Bonghwasan Station.
Accordingly, to quickly secure a key public parking lot without large-scale financial investment, the district began negotiations with SH Corporation in March to transfer operating rights, and in September, signed a consignment agreement for the operation of the Bonghwasan Station public parking lot.
Subsequently, in October, legal grounds for the transfer of public parking lot operating rights were established through amendments to SH Corporation’s operating ordinance and articles of incorporation.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu stated, “Through the operation of the Bonghwasan Station public parking lot, we have not only resolved the current parking shortage but also proactively secured future parking demand arising from the development of Dongjin School complex and Compact City projects. We will continue to listen closely to the voices from the field to solve residents’ daily life issues.”
