[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun visited Gyeongbok High School in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 27th to inspect the COVID-19 prevention preparations ahead of the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) scheduled for the 3rd of next month.
With less than a week remaining before the CSAT, Prime Minister Chung checked the on-site prevention measures and encouraged the officials involved.
First, Prime Minister Chung received a report on Seoul’s CSAT preparation status from Cho Hee-yeon, Superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education.
He then personally inspected the general examination rooms for asymptomatic test-takers, as well as separate waiting and testing rooms for symptomatic test-takers with fever or other symptoms on the day of the exam.
Prime Minister Chung said, "The CSAT is a national event symbolizing 'fair opportunity' in our society, and this year, due to the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, the public is more concerned than ever about the safety of test-takers."
He added, "The government is making every effort to ensure that all test-takers, including confirmed cases and those in self-quarantine, can safely take the exam in a secure environment."
On this day, Prime Minister Chung urged the education office, schools, and local governments to further strengthen pre-exam preparations and prevention measures at the test sites.
