City Council, Local SMEs, and SubOne Sign Win-Win Agreement on the 27th
Maintaining Purchase Scale from Local SMEs and Prioritizing Citizen Employment Efforts
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Yeosu City Council (Chairman Jeon Chang-gon) presented a plaque of appreciation to SubOne Co., Ltd., which signed a win-win agreement with local small and medium-sized enterprises, containing the message "Wishing to become a partner of Yeosu citizens."
According to the city council, on the morning of the 27th, a win-win agreement was signed in the Yeosu City Council's small conference room between the Yeosu City Council, SubOne Co., Ltd., the Yeosu Industrial Complex Employers Association, the Yeosu Businessmen Association, the Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Yeosu Convergence Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.
The signing ceremony was also attended by National Assembly members Joo Cheol-hyun and Kim Hoe-jae, as well as Yeosu City Deputy Mayor Seo Eun-soo.
The main contents of the win-win agreement include SubOne Co., Ltd. maintaining the purchase scale with local small and medium-sized enterprises, striving to expand sales channels of local SMEs beyond Yeosu, and making efforts to prioritize hiring Yeosu citizens.
The participating organizations also agreed to form and operate the "Yeosu Local SMEs-SubOne Win-Win Committee."
Chairman Jeon Chang-gon presented a plaque of appreciation to Executive Director Jo Jun of SubOne Co., Ltd. on the day and urged sincere implementation of the agreement.
The Yeosu City Council has continuously urged the establishment of win-win measures as concerns grew over sales impacts centered on local SMEs following SubOne Co., Ltd.'s completion of a large-scale logistics center this year.
Earlier, on July 22, during the 203rd extraordinary session, a resolution urging win-win measures was passed, and on August 6, the council directly visited SubOne Co., Ltd.'s logistics center to propose signing a win-win agreement.
Chairman Jeon Chang-gon said, "There is a saying, 'If you go alone, you go fast, but if you go together, you go far,'" adding, "Although it is a difficult time due to COVID-19, I hope that today's win-win agreement will bring new vitality to the local economy."
