Choi Heon-ju, head of Hyundai Motor Busan Service Center, said, “Although the recent internal and external situations are difficult, we are striving to help nurture automotive technical experts,” and added, “We hope that the automotive engineering students actively utilize the donated vehicle to grow into experts in eco-friendly and autonomous vehicles, which are gaining attention.”
Recently, the Department of Automotive Engineering at Dongmyung University participated in the 4th Industrial Revolution Innovation Leading University project (total project cost 2 billion KRW, led by Park Dong-woo) organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, aiming to cultivate future-oriented automotive professionals by establishing the ‘Intelligent Automotive System Design Studio.’
The donated LF Sonata vehicle will be used for automotive research by undergraduate and graduate students.
Kim Do-young (25, 4th year, Department of Automotive Engineering), who is participating in the product development semester program operated under the 4th Industrial Revolution Innovation Leading University project, said, “It will be a great opportunity to complete the development of the cluster for electric vehicles currently being designed and apply it to an actual vehicle.”
The Department of Automotive Engineering at Dongmyung University operates theoretical and practical education courses with specialized practice equipment and facilities at the professional department level, differentiated from similar departments at regional universities, focusing on practical automotive education.
Recently, they participated in the 2020 International Student Creative Car Competition and won the silver prize in the electric vehicle racing category.
