Another Middle School Student Confirmed COVID-19 Positive in Gwangju... Complete Testing of Students and Staff Conducted A COVID-19 case has been confirmed at Wolbong Middle School in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and a full inspection of students and staff is underway.

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 27th, three people tested positive for COVID-19 on that day and were classified as cases 660 to 662.


Case 660, a resident of Ssangchon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, is known to have exhibited symptoms and lived daily life for four days, raising significant concerns about transmission.


Since the 23rd, the individual showed symptoms such as fever and received cold treatment at an acquaintance’s hospital before undergoing a diagnostic test the day before, which confirmed the positive result. The infection route has not yet been identified.


Case 661 is a resident of Unnam-dong, Gwangsan-gu, and a university student doing clinical practice at Chonnam National University Hospital. The individual tested positive in a test conducted before the end of self-quarantine.


Case 662 is a student at Wolbong Middle School in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, and is known to be the child of case 651, whose infection route is unclear.


Currently, a full investigation is underway for about 600 people, including 547 students of Wolbong Middle School.
