On the 27th, the Justice Committee members stated in a press release, "Chairman Yoon's behavior is unbearable to witness."
The committee members criticized, "To resolve the unprecedented 'suspension of the Prosecutor General's duties' situation, it would be sufficient to promptly summon Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae and Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol together to let the public judge the truth, but this is being blocked," adding, "Referring to the opposition party's secretary as 'you' and attempting to enforce 'duty suspension' is a clear case of overstepping authority (越權)."
Earlier, when the opposition party insisted that Prosecutor General Yoon should appear before the National Assembly, Chairman Yoon rebutted, saying, "Prosecutor General Yoon cannot be subject to appearance." When an opposition lawmaker pointed out that Chairman Yoon was blocking Prosecutor General Yoon's appearance, Chairman Yoon sparked controversy by saying it was a "habit when making rumors."
The Justice Committee members pointed out, "Using abusive language such as 'habit when making rumors' toward a reporter-turned-opposition lawmaker during a media briefing raises doubts about basic propriety and views on the press," and added, "If an official and sincere apology from Chairman Yoon does not come, resignation is the only option."
