Gwangju Nam-gu to Recruit Artists for Exhibition at Yangrim Art Museum Next Year


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 27th that it is recruiting '2021 Yangnim Art Museum Exhibition Artists' to provide visitors to Yangnim-dong, a modern historical and cultural village, with opportunities to appreciate artworks and to promote the artistic activities of local artists.


Eligibility for application includes individuals or groups active in the fields of flat, three-dimensional, or mixed media art, and individuals or groups residing in or based in Nam-gu. Artists or groups who have held exhibitions at the Yangnim Art Museum from 2018 to this year are excluded.


Selected artists through the open recruitment will be granted the benefit of free use of the venue.


For planned invitational exhibitions, in addition to free venue use, a cost of 1.5 million KRW per exhibition will be supported for promotional material production.


However, to hold a planned invitational exhibition, it must be an exhibition that can contribute to the development and popularization of culture and arts, and artists residing in or based in Nam-gu are given preference.


The selection of artists for planned invitational exhibitions is expected to be made within a range of up to seven people through the review of the Yangnim Art Museum Advisory Committee.


Applications for the Yangnim Art Museum exhibition artists recruitment will be accepted until the 4th of next month. Applicants can download the related documents from the Nam-gu Office website's public notice section, fill them out, and submit them via email, registered mail, or by visiting the 7th floor Culture and Tourism Department of Nam-gu Office.


Meanwhile, the Yangnim Art Museum has a building structure consisting of one basement floor and one above-ground floor. The basement exhibition hall can accommodate 25 to 30 artworks, and the above-ground exhibition hall can display 15 to 20 artworks.
