[Featured Stock] ToBeSoft, Trump US President "Vaccine Delivery as Early as Next Week"... Cold Chain Spotlight 'Strong'

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] ToBeSoft is showing strong performance. It appears to be influenced by news that distribution of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine may be possible in the United States as early as next week.

As of 9:36 AM on the 27th, ToBeSoft was trading at 3,030 KRW, up 7.64% (215 KRW) compared to the previous trading day.

According to Reuters on the 26th (local time), U.S. President Trump said during a video call to encourage U.S. troops stationed overseas on Thanksgiving Day, "Distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine will begin next week or the week after." He added that the initial vaccine supply will be prioritized for healthcare workers on the front lines of COVID-19 response and the elderly.

ToBeSoft is participating in the government-led project ‘2019 Knowledge Service Industry Core Technology Development Project’ organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, developing an AI (artificial intelligence)-based pharmaceutical cold chain platform.

The pharmaceutical cold chain platform under development is an intelligent cloud cold chain platform service. Compared to existing cold chain systems, it offers higher safety, transparency, and cost reduction effects during the distribution process.

Cold chain refers to a low-temperature logistics system that maintains the entire process of production, storage, distribution, and sales at low temperatures to manage the quality of temperature-sensitive products such as fresh food and pharmaceuticals. Among these, vaccines and biopharmaceuticals are much more sensitive to temperature, requiring refrigerated distribution mostly at 2~8 degrees Celsius and some ultra-low temperature frozen storage.
