[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea Gas Corporation received the Minister of Employment and Labor Commendation at the '2nd Public Institution Social Value Creation Competition' held at Korea Polytechnic University Seoul Jeongsu Campus on the 26th.

Organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, this competition was established to discover and spread exemplary cases of public institutions contributing to the activation of the social economy and the realization of social value.

To minimize the number of attendees, the event was switched to an online non-face-to-face format and was broadcast live on the Ministry of Employment and Labor's YouTube channel.

Korea Gas Corporation was recognized for creating social value through the social economy support cooperation project 'Ansim (安心) Factory' and received the grand prize.

Ansim Factory is a project that supports the advancement into higher markets and the establishment of online platforms for food-related social economy consortiums by providing a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certified shared workspace.

The first Ansim Factory, opened in December 2018, is operated by a consortium of six social economy enterprises that created the joint brand 'VERY COOP' in the lunchbox and catering manufacturing sector, creating jobs and providing healthy food to vulnerable groups and youth, thereby working to resolve welfare blind spots in the Daegu area.

The second factory, scheduled for completion next month, involves five social economy enterprises and will launch the joint brand 'makeable D' for confectionery, bakery, coffee, and desserts.

The second factory plans to strengthen competitiveness through training on famous companies' sales strategies and product manufacturing know-how, as well as jointly developed menus, and will offer free confectionery, bakery, and barista courses for vulnerable groups.

A Korea Gas Corporation official stated, "We will continue to widely expand the Ansim Factory project and devote ourselves to developing and supporting exemplary social business models for social economy enterprises in the Daegu area, faithfully fulfilling our role as a partner in the local community."
