'Matnam-ui Gwangjang Collaboration' CU Launches 'Uri Ori Deok Jeongsik' Lunchbox

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] To help duck farms facing the crisis of farm closures due to blocked sales channels amid the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection, the entertainment program 'Delicious Rendezvous' and CU have once again joined forces.

Convenience store CU announced on the 27th that it will release the 'Woori Ori Duck Set Meal' lunchbox to promote the consumption of domestically produced duck meat in collaboration with 'Delicious Rendezvous.' Last month, they produced and sold apple pies to support apple farms in Yesan, Chungnam.

CEO Baek Jong-won personally visited the BGF Retail Product Research Institute to discuss the lunchbox composition and cooking methods with the ready-meal MDs, showing special affection by enhancing the product's completeness.

The Woori Ori Duck Set Meal lunchbox consists of duck jumulreok marinated in a special sauce to add umami flavor and smoked duck served with sweet teriyaki sauce. The side dishes include dried radish greens seasoned with soybean paste, seasoned mung bean sprouts, and white aged kimchi. The price is 4,900 won.

Meanwhile, CU’s apple pie, made using apples with reduced marketability due to damage suffered by apple farms in Yesan, Chungnam from heavy rains this year, became extremely popular, causing a sell-out frenzy immediately after its release last month and ranking first in ambient dessert sales.
