Executives of the Housing Corporation supported a welfare vehicle for the elderly at Donggu Jaseongdae Senior Welfare Center with money they saved by splitting their salaries.

The executives of Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, President Lee Jeong-hwan) have stepped up to support vulnerable groups in the local community who are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. The 'ammunition' for support was their salaries.

Since April, when the COVID-19 situation was at its peak, HF executives have returned part of their salaries for four months. The total amount accumulated reached a remarkable 84 million KRW.

With this fund, a vehicle was purchased and delivered last summer to the Dong-gu Jaseongdae Senior Welfare Center near Dongcheoncheon in Dong-gu, Busan, which suffered damage from severe heavy rains. The vehicle is used as a transportation means for the elderly.

HF also used this fund to provide disinfection, quarantine, and cleaning services to over 160 disadvantaged households in the Busan area vulnerable to the spread of COVID-19, creating jobs for this purpose.

President Lee Jeong-hwan said, “To overcome COVID-19 early, warm interest and support from all of us are essential,” adding, “HF will actively lead regional coexistence and fulfill the social responsibility of public institutions.”
