[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) will implement quarantine measures equivalent to social distancing level 3 at public facilities in the district starting from the 27th, as a proactive response to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
Accordingly, the district will completely suspend the operation of all public facilities, including libraries, sports facilities (indoor and outdoor), and welfare facilities, until December 7, and ban gatherings and events organized by the district with more than 50 participants.
Additionally, quarantine measures equivalent to level 2.5 will be recommended for other private facilities.
Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, “As of midnight on the 26th, the nationwide number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 583, and Seongdong-gu has had 27 new confirmed cases in the past week. Furthermore, sporadic group infections are continuously occurring nationwide in multi-use facilities, saunas, and indoor sports facilities. Although Seoul is currently implementing social distancing level 2 citywide, considering the seriousness of the situation, Seongdong-gu has decided to proactively implement measures equivalent to level 3 in the public sector.”
