Dongwha Yakpum 'Hwalmyungsu-Yu'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] Recently, as the weather has become colder, the number of people complaining of indigestion has increased. Exposure to cold air reduces blood flow to the digestive organs, decreasing the activity of the body and internal organs, which can cause symptoms of indigestion.
In fact, over the past three years, the average monthly number of patients visiting hospitals for functional indigestion from November to January was 79,479, about 14% higher compared to spring (April to June). Dongwha Pharm's stick-type pouch digestive medicine 'Hwalmyungsu-Yu' has significantly reduced the dosage to 10ml compared to the bottle product (75ml), enhancing ease of use.
It contains the same nine ingredients found in the original Hwalmyungsu, including cinnamon, clove, and ginger, and is expected to have the same effects on indigestion, overeating, vomiting, and loss of appetite.
Hwalmyungsu-Yu can be taken without water and is convenient to carry when traveling or going out. It is packaged in five 10ml pouches and can be purchased at pharmacies as an over-the-counter drug. This product was launched last September after 10 years of research. The product name ‘Yu (遊, play Yu)’ means ‘to play, enjoy, chatter, travel.’
Hwalmyungsu is Korea’s first new drug and the longest-selling medicine, celebrating its 123rd anniversary this year. Dongwha Pharm offers a total of seven products tailored to various consumer characteristics, including five over-the-counter drugs such as Hwalmyungsu-Yu, Miin Hwalmyungsu, and Kkoma Hwalmyungsu, as well as two quasi-drugs, Gas活 (Hwal) and Miin活 (Hwal).
