Korean Representative Antacid Has Been Renewed


[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] 'Gelfos,' a stomach medicine loved by Koreans, has donned a new look. Boryung Consumer Healthcare unveiled a new package for Gelfos to enhance brand value and approach consumers more familiarly. The new package retains Gelfos's signature yellow color and features the letter G from Gel, representing suspension, stylized in the shape of a stomach (胃).


Launched by Boryung Pharmaceutical in 1975, Gelfos neutralizes excessive stomach acid with alkaline substances to relieve symptoms such as heartburn and bloating. The upgraded product 'Gelfos M,' released in 2002, has enhanced adsorption and neutralization effects and reduced gastrointestinal side effects.


It can be taken without the burden of constipation or diarrhea by patients with peptic ulcers and those bedridden for long periods. 'Gelfos L,' launched in 2018, promotes gastrointestinal peristalsis and digestive juice secretion, effectively improving heartburn symptoms accompanied by indigestion.


A Boryung Consumer Healthcare official said, "Recently, many people complain of heartburn due to consuming spicy foods and irregular meals," adding, "Gelfos M can quickly heal and protect tired and damaged stomachs."
