Lotte Hotel Academy Proves HR Excellence... [Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Lotte Hotel announced on the 26th that the Lotte Hotel Service Academy won the Grand Prize at the ‘2020 Korea Human Resource Development Awards’ ceremony.


The Korea Human Resource Development Awards is the only domestic award specializing in HR, presented to government agencies, local governments, companies, educational institutions, and education experts who have led the development of related industries in Korea.


This year, the Grand Prize awarded to Lotte Hotel Service Academy is given to companies that received excellent evaluations across overall HRD assessment criteria, including philosophy and investment in human resource development, education and training at the management strategy level, facilities, and HRD organizational personnel.


The Lotte Hotel Service Academy is an educational institution that consolidates the service know-how of Lotte Hotel, which has led the domestic hotel industry for over 40 years. It was recognized for excellence in systematic curricula such as service training programs for global talent development, hotel job training courses, employment experience programs, a professional teaching staff, and facilities optimized for service education.


Recently, it has taken the lead in developing employee capabilities by promoting non-face-to-face education and various training programs, and is nurturing about 80 professional in-house instructors selected from the field, including food and beverage and guest rooms. Every year, about 6,000 people complete the Service Academy’s training courses, internalizing meticulous and high-quality service at 32 Lotte Hotels and Resorts worldwide. Additionally, it is expanding to Lotte Group affiliates and external education, fulfilling its role as a specialized service education institution for the development of the domestic service industry.


Lotte Hotel currently operates about 10,000 rooms and has a strategy to expand to approximately 30,000 rooms in five years. Centered on the Lotte Hotel Service Academy, it is evolving into a game changer through essential talent development and enhancing the capabilities of the HRD department for active business expansion.
