"53% Increase in Delivery Riders in September Compared to February"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Barogo, a startup operating a last-mile logistics IT platform (CEO Lee Taekwon), announced on the 26th that the number of riders who completed at least one delivery per month increased by 53% in September compared to February, right after the outbreak of COVID-19.

This is analyzed to be due to the increase in delivery demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which led many people to take up delivery rider jobs. In fact, the number of deliveries completed by Barogo riders in September was 10.05 million, a 45.4% increase compared to 6.91 million in February.

The income earned by Barogo riders from deliveries has also been increasing significantly every year, and it is expected to reach 400 billion KRW this year. The total delivery income of Barogo riders was 106 billion KRW in 2018 and 206 billion KRW last year. As of mid-November this year, the total delivery income of Barogo riders was 340 billion KRW.

A Barogo representative said, "Not all riders earn high income, so we will continue to strive to enable more riders to earn as much as they want," adding, "We plan to continuously develop related businesses to ensure that the increase in rider income does not lead to increased costs for store owners."
