Volvo Korea Successfully Completes '2020 Untact Hey, Plogging'... Donates 240 Million Won

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Volvo Cars Korea announced on the 26th that it successfully completed the eco-friendly running event ‘2020 Untact Hey, Plogging.’ Before the event, the entire sales amount of 40 million KRW from the 2,020 limited edition plogging packages sold was donated in the buyers’ names, and Volvo Korea added an additional donation of 200 million KRW, making a total donation of 240 million KRW to the Environment Foundation. The donation will be used for environmental campaign activities to raise awareness of disposable waste issues and proper disposal of disposable masks.

Now in its second year, ‘Hey, Plogging’ was organized to promote the meaning of environmental protection through small daily actions. Especially this year, for safety reasons, it was planned with an ‘untact concept’ and held from the 31st of last month to the 8th of this month over nine days. Participants posted photos of their plogging activities along with required hashtags on Instagram to certify their participation. As a result, a total of 1,875 people voluntarily took part.

Volvo Korea is striving to spread a clean and safe plogging culture. Since 2019, it has formed the ‘Volvo Plogging Running Crew,’ consisting of 21 running crews and a total of 1,700 members, continuously providing necessary supplies for plogging and running. Going forward, the crew will be active wherever plogging is needed and will take the lead in spreading a healthy plogging culture.

Lee Yun-mo, CEO of Volvo Cars Korea, stated, “Small but meaningful actions in daily life are coming together to create a clean and beautiful Earth, and the plogging culture is gradually spreading domestically.” He added, “This year as well, we will strive to meet the expectations of all customers who joined us in this cause with Volvo Cars.”
