Suncheon City Donates 7,000 Masks to Support Students Ahead of the College Entrance Exam

Wishing for the Best Outcomes Despite the COVID-19 Crisis Situation

Suncheon City Donates 7,000 Masks to Support Students Ahead of the College Entrance Exam

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) delivered 7,000 masks to the Suncheon Office of Education (Superintendent Lee Yong-duk) on the 25th to support the safe examination of this year's College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) examinees.

Mayor Heo Seok of Suncheon said, "It is heartbreaking to think of the high school seniors who could not attend school again due to social distancing level 2 just before the CSAT, after not being able to have a proper school life all year long because of COVID-19," adding, "I hope they wear these masks and do their best until the end to achieve good results."

Superintendent Lee Yong-duk responded, "Since the CSAT is being held unusually in December, I am worried that COVID-19 might spread due to the cold weather, but I feel reassured by Suncheon City's meticulous support," and said, "Together with Suncheon City, we will wisely cope so that examinees can focus on the CSAT with peace of mind even amid the COVID-19 crisis."

Meanwhile, in Suncheon, starting from a workplace infection at a bank on the 7th, the virus spread to the local community through workplaces, acquaintances, village residents, and families, infecting high school seniors as well. However, due to Suncheon City's prompt diagnostic testing and quarantine measures, a cluster infection within schools was avoided.
