[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] "I saw infinite potential in analyzing the consistency of food taste for self-employed business owners using startup technology."

On the 25th, Baek Jongwon, CEO of The Born Korea, who attended the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Big-Star Solver Platform Part 1' held at The Born Korea in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, made this statement.

The 'Big-Star Solver Platform' is a new win-win cooperation policy that connects large corporations and startups to solve each other's problems together and complement each other's different capabilities. The Born Korea submitted the issue of 'securing franchise food taste consistency and quality control.'

On this day, six startups that advanced to the finals showcased various technologies such as analyzing the freshness of ingredients and presenting taste variation experiment results using wireless communication, video analysis, spectroscopy, and artificial intelligence (AI) analysis.

The evaluation involved Baek Jongwon, CEO of The Born Korea, employees, and experts in related fields. The focus was on technology verification, commercialization potential, ease of use, and economic feasibility. The results will be announced later after in-depth discussions and collecting opinions from employees responsible for franchise management tasks.

Baek Jongwon, CEO of The Born Korea, said, "Based on the technology demonstrated by the startups today, I am confident that groundbreaking programs and systems that will greatly help the operations of self-employed and small business owners in the dining industry will emerge within the next five years."

Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, who made a surprise visit to the site that day, said, "I heard that the technology shown by the startups today was newly applied to taste identification after seeing The Born Korea's task, which shows that the Big-Star Solver Platform can expand the application areas of technology." She added, "I hope that it will continue to be a tool to solve wealth concentration and inequality, and that large corporations and startups will create new growth engines together in various fields."
