[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Public Shopping and the Korea Consumer Agency have joined forces to strengthen the safety management capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) products.
On the 25th, Public Shopping and the Korea Consumer Agency signed a business agreement focused on "strengthening the safety management capabilities of SME products." The signing ceremony was originally scheduled to take place at the Public Shopping headquarters in Sangam-dong, but was conducted online due to the implementation of social distancing level 2.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to promote ▲exchange of information to enhance safety management of SME products ▲joint projects to disseminate safety information ▲joint production and promotion of content to prevent safety accidents related to SME products. The goal is to enhance the competitiveness of SME products and improve customer satisfaction.
As the first project under the agreement, "household blenders" were selected as a product group requiring improvement. They plan to create and promote infographics detailing major hazard cases and safety information related to blenders, so manufacturers can design with consumer safety in mind.
Choi Changhee, CEO of Public Shopping, said, "When looking at the products of SMEs sold through Public Shopping, I believe there is little difference in technology and functionality compared to large company products," adding, "Through the cooperation of the two organizations, we will work to strengthen the competitiveness of SME products and further increase consumer interest and trust in SME products."
