'Junggu & Toy Flea Market' YouTube Live Broadcast

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) will hold the 'Jung-gu & Toy Flea Market' online on the 26th.

The purpose is to spread the culture of sharing in the local community and to provide a communication space for parents of infants and toddlers, whose face-to-face meetings have decreased due to COVID-19.

The online flea market will be broadcast live for one hour from 11 a.m. on Jung-gu's official YouTube channel, 'Euljiro Jeonpasa'.

Comedian Jo Seunghui will host the event. From popular toy auctions to parenting talks and quizzes, it is expected to draw enthusiastic responses from online participants. Mayor Seoyangho of Jung-gu will also participate directly as a seller in the auction, bringing energy to the online flea market.

The district originally planned to hold a small-scale offline flea market in the afternoon following the online live broadcast, but due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, the flea market was fully converted into an online event.

The items for sale include 190 used toys and 100 books previously used at the Kids Toy section of the Childcare Comprehensive Support Center, along with other sponsored items. Although used, the items are in good condition as they were managed by the center and have been thoroughly disinfected.

Among these, toys such as mini kitchens, ride-on cars, mini dressing tables, which any household with infants and toddlers would desire, and a complete set of dinosaur science books will be sold through the YouTube live auction. Items not sold at the online flea market will continue to be sold in the 'Online Market' on the Naver Cafe.

To participate in the live broadcast auction, search for 'Euljiro Jeonpasa' on YouTube. For the online market, join the Naver Cafe 'Jung-gu Mom Parenting Talk' and leave a purchase comment on the desired toy; sales are on a first-come, first-served basis. The online market items will be updated around 1 p.m. on the 26th.

Each person can purchase up to two items, and prices range from 1,000 to 8,000 KRW.

The online market will close on December 4th. Popular toys and books tend to sell out quickly, so it is advisable to act promptly.

The proceeds from the flea market will be donated as relief funds to the underprivileged, reflecting the meaning of 'sharing' and 'giving' and used for meaningful causes.

Mayor Seoyangho of Jung-gu said, "I hope this will be a special time to find necessary items and relieve the hardships and stress of parenting life," adding, "We will continue to discover practical support measures that parents with infants and toddlers can feel directly, making Jung-gu a great place to raise children."
