The fire rescue team, who responded to the report, performed emergency measures including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and transported Mr. A to the hospital, but he eventually passed away. According to the police, Mr. A's electric wheelchair hit the elevator door and then fell about 5 meters to the floor through the opened door. At that time, the elevator was reportedly on a different floor.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) at the scene, believing that Mr. A misoperated the electric wheelchair, hit the elevator door, and fell.
