[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] With the scheduled release date of child sex offender Jo Doo-soon just three weeks away, a movie based on the 'Jo Doo-soon case' is set to be released.

On the 24th, the production team of the film Dogs announced that the movie, which depicts the most brutal revenge against a child sex offender, will be released this December.

This film is a cruel revenge drama that uncovers the ugly truth between a teenage girl named 'Sia,' who was exposed to violence and went missing, her father 'Jong-gu,' who is framed as the prime suspect, and the mysteriously entangled villagers.

The newly released stills capture the overwhelming presence of Ji Dae-han, Seol Ji-yoon, and Kim Seung-hyun, who have perfectly immersed themselves in their characters, as well as the film's intense atmosphere.

First, the scene where the alcoholic father Jong-gu abuses his daughter Sia hints at the nightmare-like moments surrounding them. Following this, the tension rises through scenes of Jong-gu being arrested by the police and villagers gathered in the interrogation room.

Finally, Sia’s extreme wariness of her father raises suspicion that Jong-gu might also be the suspect in the shocking incident that occurred in the village, maintaining tension until the film’s conclusion.

Dogs is a work that explores the hidden sides of characters based on the disappearance of a girl. The film is characterized by its meticulous story development and groundbreaking direction.

In particular, the subject matter and story reminiscent of the 'Jo Doo-soon case,' which sparked nationwide outrage in 2008, are expected to leave a lasting impression and food for thought for all of us living in 2020.

The production company described the film as "a realistic yet new crime drama that shows the most brutal revenge against sex offenders whom the law has failed to punish."

Meanwhile, Jo Doo-soon has been serving a 12-year sentence for kidnapping and sexually assaulting an elementary school student in 2008, causing serious injuries, and is scheduled to be released on the 13th of next month.
