Chosun University Graduate School Advanced Materials Engineering Department Wins Consecutive Awards at Academic Conference

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Graduate students in the Department of Advanced Materials Engineering at Chosun University have attracted attention by consecutively winning awards at academic conferences.

According to Chosun University on the 24th, Kyungbin Ahn, a master's student in the Department of Advanced Materials Engineering, received the Excellence Award for Poster Presentation for his research on "The Effect of Fluoride Ions in Artificial Saliva on the Corrosion of Additively Manufactured Ti-6Al-4V Alloy" at the "2020 Fall Academic Conference of the Korean Society for Corrosion Engineering," held online from the 12th to the 13th.

Last month, Kyungbin Ahn also won an Excellence Award at the "2020 Fall Academic Conference of the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials."

Joohee Lee, a doctoral student in the same department, received the Excellence Award for Student Oral Presentation at the "2020 Fall Academic Conference of the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials," held online from the 28th to the 30th of last month.

Joohee Lee was highly evaluated for presenting research results on "Corrosion Behavior of Laser Peened Titanium and Ti-6Al-4V Alloy."

She was recognized for her research capabilities for two consecutive years by winning the Best Poster Award at the International Corrosion Engineering Conference (ICEC) last year, the Excellence Award at the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers Fall Academic Conference, and the Excellence Award for Student Oral Presentation.

Professor Hee-jin Jang, the supervising professor, said, "I am proud of the students who achieved awards despite the difficult situation caused by COVID-19, and I hope they continue to enhance their pride and passion to further develop their research capabilities."
