Relay Exhibition at Seogu Office Building and Subway Station
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) announced on the 24th that it held the "3rd Gwangju Seo-gu Tourism National Photo Contest" on the 23rd.
This contest was promoted through a business agreement with the Gwangju Metropolitan City branch of the Korea Photographers Association to widely publicize Seo-gu's representative attractions and festivals, including the Seo-gu 8 Views, nationwide.
It also aimed to discover new historical and cultural resources and attractions to develop them as tourism resources, thereby realizing a premium cultural tourism Seo-gu.
As a result of accepting submissions from September 1 to 18 through a public announcement in March, 194 photographic works themed on beautiful natural landscapes, cultural and historical sites, festivals, cultural events, and traditional markets were received.
Judging results selected a total of 46 works, including the Grand Prize winner "Beautiful Uncheon Lake" (Oh Gwanyong), Silver Prize winners "Making Memories" (Lee Haegwon) and "Byeokjin Seowon" (Jo Miim), Bronze Prize winners "Yongdudong Dolmen" (Kim Miseon), "Stepping Stone Hiking" (Shin Youngha), and "Song Ga In Appeared" (Choi Ganggyu), along with 5 honorable mentions and 35 selected works.
The district held an awards ceremony and the 3rd Gwangju Seo-gu Tourism National Photo Contest exhibition in the lobby on the first floor of the Seo-gu Office building the day before. Following this, relay exhibitions are planned at Seo-gu Cultural Center, Nongsung Station, and Sangmu Station.
Additionally, the photos will be actively used in producing various promotional materials to publicize Seo-gu's tourism resources nationwide.
Meanwhile, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, visitors to the exhibition must wear masks and undergo temperature checks before entry, and maintain social distancing while viewing.
A Seo-gu official said, "We have prepared diligently to promote Seo-gu's tourism resources nationwide through the Seo-gu Tourism National Photo Contest," and added, "We plan to utilize various policies to enhance the image of a premium cultural city by leveraging diverse tourism resources."
