[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Hyundai Home Shopping is providing strollers and hygiene products worth 150 million KRW to low-income mothers raising young children and female adolescents.


On the 24th, Hyundai Home Shopping announced that it had delivered 150 million KRW in support funds for the ‘Hi Campaign’ project to the Korean Red Cross. The delivery ceremony held at the Korean Red Cross in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by Hyundai Home Shopping President Daegyu Lim and Korean Red Cross Chairperson Heeyoung Shin, among others.


Since 2017, Hyundai Home Shopping has been conducting the ‘Hi Campaign’ annually, providing necessary items tailored to the female life cycle to low-income mothers and female adolescents. Including this year’s support amount, a total of 600 million KRW has been provided over four years to 1,630 low-income mothers and 1,300 female adolescents.


The funds delivered this time will be used through the Korean Red Cross to support low-income mothers and female adolescents. They plan to provide 310 strollers (worth 100 million KRW in total) to 310 low-income mothers with a monthly income below 70% of the median income (2.709 million KRW for a family of three) who gave birth since January last year or are expecting childbirth this year. Additionally, hygiene kits (worth 50 million KRW in total), consisting of hygiene products, underwear, and pouches usable for six months, will be provided to 650 low-income female adolescents (from 3rd grade elementary to 3rd grade high school) facing economic difficulties, such as those in grandparent-headed or single-parent families.


Hyundai Home Shopping President Daegyu Lim said, “We are carrying out the Hi Campaign to help children and students grow up healthily in a happy environment, even if just a little.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen customized support projects for marginalized groups to realize social value.”


Meanwhile, Hyundai Home Shopping recently received the ‘Red Cross Member Meritorious Award ? Highest Honor’ from the Korean Red Cross in recognition of its contributions to operating the Hi Campaign. The Highest Honor of the Red Cross Member Meritorious Award is the top-level award given to individual members or organizations that have donated a cumulative amount of 500 million KRW or more to the Korean Red Cross.
